What to expect

Honest, considered.

  1. 01

    Medical consult

A licensed provider reviews your medical history, current medications, lab work where indicated, and your goals. Programs are not one-size-fits-all and we will not start one without the screening.

  2. 02

    Plan + pricing

We map a plan (medication choice, dose, cadence) and give you the actual cost in writing before you commit. Cherry and CareCredit are accepted for the financing side.

  3. 03

    First dose + training

If you are starting a self-administered medication, we walk you through the injection technique in-studio. Most patients are comfortable with it inside one visit.

  4. 04

    Ongoing check-ins

Monthly follow-ups for the first few months — weight, vitals, side effects, dose adjustments. We adjust the plan to your body, not a script.

Honest screening

Who's a good fit,
and who should wait.

Conservative defaults. If anything below applies to you, we'll talk it through at consult — not every "wait" is permanent, and many are short-term. The visit itself is the real screen.

Good candidate

  • Adults with weight-loss goals who have tried diet and movement and need physician-supervised support
  • Patients comfortable with monthly check-ins, lab work where indicated, and an ongoing program
  • Anyone wanting peptide therapy under medical supervision rather than from an unregulated source

Pause / consult first

  • Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN-2 syndrome
  • Severe gastrointestinal disease
  • Eating disorder history without specialist clearance
  • Type 1 diabetes (these medications are not indicated)
  • Allergy to GLP-1 receptor agonist class medications

Physician-supervised, on purpose.

Every weight-loss and peptide program at the studio runs under Dr. Tran's medical direction, and that word — supervised — is doing real work in that sentence. The current landscape is full of online forms that turn into a prescription in the same sitting, no history taken, no labs, no follow-up. That is not what happens here. Every program starts with a real medical consult: history, current medications, labs where indicated, and an honest conversation about whether a GLP-1 or GIP-class medication is even the right tool for what you are trying to do.

In plain terms, the medications we work with (semaglutide and tirzepatide) belong to a class that supports appetite regulation and slows gastric emptying, which is part of why patients on them typically feel satisfied on less food. That is the mechanism, not a promise. What any individual patient experiences depends on dose, adherence, physiology, and the rest of the plan around the medication, which is exactly why the consult exists before anything is prescribed.

We also do not treat this as a single visit. It is a program with a cadence, not a prescription you pick up once and manage alone. Dose, medication choice, and check-in frequency are set at consult and adjusted as we see how your body responds, which is the entire reason 'inquire at consult' sits next to every price on this page instead of a flat number that would be honest for no one.

The screening list is intentionally conservative — pregnancy, a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN-2, Type 1 diabetes, and a handful of other conditions rule a patient out or require specialist clearance first. We will not start a program without that screening, even when a patient is confident it does not apply to them. That is the difference between a medical program and a script mill, and it is the one we are not willing to blur.

Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and peptides — the practical differences.

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist, typically dosed on a weekly schedule that titrates upward over the first several weeks as the body adjusts. The molecule is sold under several different brand names, and those products do not all carry the same FDA approval — some are approved for type 2 diabetes, others specifically for chronic weight management. Which product is appropriate for you, if any, is a medical determination made at consult against your history and indication. It is not a menu pick, and we are not going to advertise one on a web page.

Tirzepatide acts on two receptors rather than one, GIP and GLP-1 together, which is the 'dual agonist' language you may have seen elsewhere. In practice that can mean a different response curve. The same approval distinction applies here as with semaglutide: the branded products differ in what they are indicated for, and matching the right one to the right patient is the physician's call, not a preference you pick in advance.

What we will not do is turn a web form into a prescription. This class of medication carries real contraindications — the screening list above is not decorative — and the choice of molecule, starting dose, titration pace and specific product all sit with a physician who has reviewed your history and, where indicated, your labs. If this class is not the right tool for what you are trying to do, the honest answer in the room is that it isn't, and you will get that answer.

Peptide therapy is the broader category beyond weight management — protocols aimed at recovery, general wellness, and other targeted goals, selected and dosed the same way: under medical supervision, matched to what you are actually trying to accomplish. The reason to run peptides through a medical practice instead of an unregulated online source is not a technicality. Sourcing, dosing, and monitoring are exactly the parts that go wrong when nobody licensed is involved.

What the program actually looks like, month to month.

It starts with the consult: a licensed provider reviews your medical history, current medications, labs where indicated, and what you are actually trying to achieve. This is not a five-minute formality. Programs are not one-size-fits-all, and we will not start one without the screening, even for a patient who is certain they qualify.

From there we build a plan — medication choice, starting dose, check-in cadence — and give you the actual cost in writing before you commit to anything. Cherry and CareCredit financing are both accepted for patients spreading a longer program over time, which is the same financing option available across the rest of the studio's larger packages.

If the plan involves a self-administered medication, we walk through the injection technique in-studio at your first dose. Most patients are comfortable handling it on their own within that single visit, and we are a phone call away if anything about it feels uncertain the first few times at home.

After that, the program runs on monthly check-ins for at least the first few months: weight, vitals, side effects, and dose adjustments as needed. We are adjusting the plan to your body's actual response, not running you through a fixed script regardless of how you are doing. If something needs to change, mid-program, we change it.

How a program like this fits a Huntington Beach life.

The studio sits on Main Street, which in practice means the monthly check-in is genuinely easy to keep on the calendar. Patients running a program tend to pair the visit with something else already on the Main Street loop, lunch, an errand, a HydraFacial the same week, rather than treating it as a special trip.

We see patients from Huntington Beach itself and from Newport, Costa Mesa, and Long Beach who chose a physician-run program over the faster, unsupervised options available online. That choice is usually less about the medication itself, which is available plenty of places, and more about wanting someone checking labs, adjusting dose, and being reachable if a side effect shows up that wasn't on the intake form.

A lot of what brings people in the door in this zip code is honest and specific: an active, outdoor, beach-forward life where the gap between effort and results has stopped closing on its own. We do not promise a number on a scale. We do promise a plan that is actually built around your history rather than a generic titration schedule applied to everyone who fills out the same form.

Dr. Tran's oversight here is not a marketing line — he is CEO and founder of Excell Integrated Medical Group in Paramount, board-certified in family practice, and the same physician responsible for medical direction across every protocol at the studio, not a name licensed out for a weight-loss vertical. Continuity of care is the whole model. That is who is actually reviewing your labs.

Common questions

About Weight Loss.

Don't see your question? Reach the studio.

  • Do you offer Semaglutide, Ozempic, or Mounjaro?

We offer Semaglutide and Tirzepatide programs under Dr. Tran's medical direction, dispensed in accordance with current state-board and FDA guidance. Brand-name Ozempic and Mounjaro are prescribed when clinically appropriate. The right medication depends on your medical history and goals — we walk through it at consult.

  • What does it cost?

Cost depends on medication choice, dose, and program length. We give you a written price before you commit, and we accept Cherry and CareCredit financing for longer programs. Consult is the first step.

  • Is this a medical program?

Yes. Every weight-loss and peptide program at Excell runs under Dr. Tran's medical direction. We are not a clinic that hands out scripts after a one-page intake. Expect a real medical workup before anything is prescribed.
